Warner Chilcott, a worldwide pharmaceutical company, is to close its Italian subsidiary (ex Procter Pharma), with the consequent loss of 151 jobs. In October 2009 Warner Chilcott acquired Procter Pharma, a pharmaceutical unit belonging to the Procter & Gamble group. According to the company, the closure is mainly due to the patent expiry of the main pharmaceutical product dealt by Procter Pharma. The trade unions reacted to the company's decision organising some protest actions and requiring other solutions in order to avoid the closure of the subsidiary.
