Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nostra Cement plant is to start trial production in June 2011 and create 130 new jobs. The Lafarg and Strabag group invested about EUR 270 Million (with EUR 3 Million state subsidies) in the new plant. As a result of this business expansion, more than 300 jobs will be also created by supplier companies.
The building of the plant started in 2007, now the pilot phase begins and the official hand over will occur on 15 September 2011.
The plant uses energy-efficient equipment in compliance with the strictest environmental standards. About 750 thousand tons clinker and 1 million tonnes of cement can be produced annually at the plant. Most of the cement will be produced for the Hungarian market, primarily for construction works financed by Strabag, the rest will be sold to neighbouring countries.
