Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Granada's Commercial Court approved the redundancy plan affecting 54 employees which had been presented by desserts manufacturer Dhul. Another 114 employees (mostly older than 60 years old) will be affected by a temporary redundancy procedure for a period of up to 180 days. Both the redundancies and temporary procedure are part of a "viability plan" presented by the administrators. The plan has been supported by the company's works council. The company, which is in the hands of administrators, has been facing financial difficulties since the beginning of 2011.
