Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 24 February 2011, Remag, a manufacturer of machinery for the mining industry, announced plans to dismiss 300 employees by the end of 2011. The company was privatized and incorporated into the Famur group in the autumn 2010.
The dismissals will be implemented in accordance with the social pact, which was signed in 2010 between the new investor and the unions. According to the agreement, the company will cooperate with the Poviat Employment Agency.
