Description
The Catalan Government (Generalitat) will dismiss 1,000 employees working in its public enterprises. This measure is included in the Catalan Government's plan to cut the public deficit and will affect public enterprises, entities and foundations where the Catalan Government has more than 50% of ownership. According to this cost savings plan, the Government is to reduce 6% of the total wages or dismissing 5% of the staff employed in its enterprises before 30th June. The direct dismissals will affect 1,000 employees. Other measures include working time reduction and possibly non-renewal of temporary contracts.
