Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The University of Salford has announced that it is to cut 200 posts. The university said that most roles would be administrative and that it was in discussions with trade unoins in an attempt to avoid compulsory redundancies. New roles are expected to be created, and it is hoped that many staff will be redeployed.
