European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
With an investment of 3 million Euro, event organiser Live it Well Events will create an artificial beach in Mangualde (close to Viseu) and hire 120 employees. The main partners in this project are Banco Espirito Santo (BES) and Portugal Telecom (PT).
The choice of location has to do with the socio-demographic characteristics of the region. It is the most densely inhabited in the inner region and the population increases in the summer due to the return of emigrants. The municipal council of Mangualde also welcomed the initiative. The inauguration of the new and the first European artificial beach is planned for June/July 2011.
