Description

Opel, a car manufacturer owned by General Motors, will spend EUR 500 million in order to expand its engine plant in Szentgotthárd, Hungary. The company also announced its plans to hire 100 new employees during 2011 and an additional 700 by 2015. The company will recruit engineers and assembly line workers. The expansion will be in operation by November 2012 and will reach full capacity in 2015. The expansion will raise the plant's output to 500,000 engines per year from the current level of 460,000. The investment will create 2,500-3,000 jobs for Opel suppliers as well in the region.
