Description
Queen Alexandra Hospital has cut 700 jobs in a bid to save £29m this financial year. The cuts, mostly clerical and administration roles, have been achieved by not filling vacant positions. However, the hospital was still likely to be facing a deficit of about £6m in an overall budget of £430m even with the savings.
On April 19, 2011 the hospital announced plans to cut a further 99 jobs. Managers hope that most of the cuts will be achieved through voluntary redundancies.
