Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 10 October 2010, Foodworks Meat Poland opened a slaughterhouse in Chróścina, in south-western Poland next to Góra. The company hired 250 workers. The slaughterhouse specializes in butchering of cattle.
The slaughterhouse in Chróścina was founded by the Polish company in 2005, but it was closed at the beginning of 2010. The slaughter was taken over by Foodworks Meat Poland in July 2010. Foodworks Meat Poland belongs to OSI Group, which is a global food trading company. The Group employs over 10,000 people in 17 countries oround the world.
