Proseat, a car seat foam producer, announced the closure of its site in Hulsout and the loss of 153 jobs. The company blamed a trend of auto makers deciding to produce their own foam cushions. In addition, the production of Proseat was strongly linked to the car production of Opel Anvers which is closed for few months. The management and the trade unions will meet to bargain the conditions of the closure.
Proseat is a joint venture of Brussels-based Recticel and Ontario-based Woodbridge Group.
