On 10 December 2010, the Commercial court of Le Havre announced the bankruptcy of Citron, a subsidiary of the Swiss group Citron which employs 110 people in France. The company specialises in recycling batteries, light sources, the residue from auto shredders and the ashes from incineration plants. All employees will be dismissed over the next days. According to the trade unions, the site may have a future and could be taken over by one of the big companies of this sector such as Veolia or Sita.
