The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Wotan Forest, a Czech forest company, has announced between 400 and 500 job cuts (i.e. almost one-half of the staff) after being unsuccessful in a public tender (organized by the state forest company Lesy ČR). According to Pavel Draštík, general manager of Wotan Forest, public tenders discriminate against large companies. In general, public tenders are criticized by forest firms for the lack of transparency. As of November 2010, there is no information on when dismissals are to be carried out.
