Description
On 18 November 2010, the German chemical group Bayer announced plans to cut approximately 4,500 positions worldwide - including 1700 in Germany - before the end of 2012. Over the same period, the group expect to create 2,500 positions, particularly in the emerging markets. The IG BCE union has asked Bayer to negotiate to preserve employment in Germany. The company has 54,500 employees in Europe.
