Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 12 October 2010 Cofely, an offshore oil and gas company, announced that it will close its plant in IJmuiden on 1 January 2011, leading to the loss of 115 employees. 10 employees from the plant will be transferred to other parts of the Cofely group, which employs 7000 persons in the Netherlands.
