Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Dow Corning Europe SA, an American company specialised in silicon-based technology products, announced on 13 September 2010 its intention to create 130 jobs and invest €35.5 million in a distribution center in Feluy (Wallonia). The company already employs 600 workers in Feluy. The distribution center will be used for the storage of products coming from Europe, the United States and Asia and for distribution in Europe and the Midde East. The project is supported by the Walloon Region and by the European Investment Fund (€10 million subsidies).
