Solar panel manufacturer REC Scanmodule announced on September 22 2010 that discussions had been initiated with trade unions in order to close its facilities in Glave, Sweden by the end of 2010. The closure will affect approximately 300 employees. The financial performance of the plant has been unsatisfactory mainly because of growing international competition. REC Scanmodule has declared it will take measures to support its employees in Arvika in seeking new job opportunities.
