Belgian media company RTBF is to cut 201 jobs. In 2009, management of the French speaking radio and TV group agreed with the Wallonia government a saving plan of 24 million euro from 2010 to 2012. The plan should have resulted in the cut of 112 full-time equivalent jobs. Finally, 201 workers (journalists, technicians, administratif staff) from the Belgian French-speaking radio and TV are instead to benefit from an early-retirement scheme. No direct dismissals are therefore planned.
