Description

The Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports announced the dismissal of 1,809 employees across the country.

Due to merging of the county departments for sport with county departments for youth, 570 are to be cut bringing the total employment from 1,920 to 1,350 people. Another 1,239 jobs will be cut as a result of the reorganization of the student cultural house and national sport clubs.

The measure, motivated by the necessity to reduce budgetary expenses, refers to the government decision no. 775/28 July 2010, published in the Official Journal no. 558 on 9 August 2010.
