European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Carrefour, one of the main supermarkets' chains worldwide, is to cut 314 jobs by the end of 2010. According to the company, the job-cuts are mainly due to the recent fall in turnover and customers.
The trade unions have asked to meet the company's management in order to find alternative measures to the job-cuts.
In Italy Carrefour has around 1,760 employees and 10 supermarkets.
