Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 22 June 2010 pharmaceutical group Pfizer announced it will close its plant in Weesp, resulting in the loss of 110 jobs. The production will be relocated to Spain, the USA and Brazil. The measure is part of a worldwide restructuring operation, resulting in the loss of 6,000 jobs.
