On July 23rd, the workers and the management of Gate Gourmet, a Zaventem-based company providing catering services for airlines and railroads, agreed on a redundancy plan which will result in the loss of 100 jobs. About 22 job cuts will be implemented through direct dismissals and approximately 80 temporary contracts will not be renewed. The redundancies are blamed on the loss of a big contract fallen into the hands of a competitor.
