Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American financial services multinational Genworth Financial has announced 117 new jobs over the next three years in the Shannon region in the mid-west of Ireland. Genworth began operating from Shannon in 1997 and presently employs 345 staff. The jobs expansion will increase total employment at the site to 462. The company employs over 6,000 in 25 countries and is involved in the lifestyle protection business, which helps clients meet repayments on loans, mortgages and other credit products.
