Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 28 May 2010 Vos Logistcs, one of the biggest transport firms in Europe, announced it will cut 200 jobs in different EU countries. In the Netherlands, 115 employees will be dismissed, and another 20 jobs will be eliminated by not replacing employees who leave. Another 65 jobs will be cut in other EU countries. As of May 2010, there is no precise information on either where else the jobs will be lost and the number employed across Europe.
