Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Private sector energy company Airtricity has revealed a proposal to create 200 new jobs over the next year by entering the domestic natural gas market. The jobs will include 100 full-time positions at its Dublin headquarters. A further 100 jobs are being outsourced. The new positions are mainly in sales and customer service. Airtricity says it will be offering customers a 10% discount on Bord Gáis's (Ireland's semi-state gas company) rates. Last year, Airtricity entered the electricity market and says it now has 200,000 customers.
