European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
MediaMarkt-Saturn, Austria's leading electronics retailer group will hire 800 new staff members in a business expansion over the next two to three years.
The MediaMarkt-Saturn group operates stores under both the MediaMarkt and Saturn brands and already occupies the role of market leader in stationary electronics retail in Austria. It will invest a further € 40 million into opening up 15 new stores within the next two to three years, thereby hiring 800 new staff members. Additionally, the company aims at becoming the country's leader in online electronics retailing. MediaMarkt launched its online store on May 5 and plans to expand it.
Currently, the MediaMarkt-Saturn group operates 23 MediaMarkt and 12 Saturn stores in Austria and employs 2600 people.
