Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Customer service provider Anthill, based in Sollefteå in the north of Sweden, announced that it will close its entire operation before the end of May. The reason is that the company has lost its only customer, telecom operator Telenor, who have decided to internalise its customer service operations. Anthill has been struggling for some time and it is now forced to close down the business and give notices to all 120 employees.
