Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish ball-bearing manufacturer SKF has initiated a restructuring program, affecting 150 employees, at the facilities in Gothenburg. The measures include early retirement, voluntary compensation, organisational reallocation and investments in skills and development. The program will cost 90 million SEK (9.3 million EURO) and affects the Industrial Division. When fully incorporated (at the latest in the third quarter 2010), the measures will save the company 50 million SEK (5.17 million EURO) annually.
