According to the Handelsblatt, Leoni, producer of insulated wires and cables, will cut between 150 and 200 jobs at its site in Friesoythe, Lower Saxony. The job reduction results from the company's decision to abandon the provision of cable and wires for planes after the completion of a three-year contract with Airbus in 2010. However, some significant transactions with clients in the automotive sector raised the sales volume in the fourth quarter 2009 above their level in fourth quarter 2008.
