Description
Pharmaceuticals company AstraZeneca announced plans to close its Loughborough site with the loss of 1,200 jobs. The site is expected to close by the end of 2011. The cuts are part of 8,000 worldwide redundancies announced by the company in January 2010. Unite union said "unions will be in formal discussions with the company and will do everything possible to minimise the impact of this announcement."
