Description

Car parts firm Thyssenkrupp Tallent announced plans to close its Bourn site resulting in the loss of about 490 jobs. The GMB Union said representatives were trying to save as many jobs as possible, while Peter Scherrer from the European Metal Workers Federation has flown in to lend support to workers. As of 6 March 2010 no date has been given for the closure.
