Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Note, a Swedish electronics manufacturer, has announced it will cut 115 jobs in Taurage by the end of first half of 2010. The company intends to close the plant in Taurage and relocate production activities to Estonia. According to the management, the main cause of the offshoring was a decrease in sales by 30% in 2009. Note Group operates in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, the Baltic States, Poland and China.
