Description
Asda has announced it will open 10 new stores and expand 10 others in 2010, creating 6000 jobs. This is part of an aggressive sales plan following the lowest quarterly sales growth in two years for the Walmart owned company. Asda's chief executive, Andy Bond, blames the supermarket's strategy of offering promotions last year and the adverse weather for this drop in performance, saying that they would be returning to concentrating on universally lower prices. No figures were given regarding Asda's current number of employees.
