European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
State-owned company Complexul Energetic Turceni is to cut 250 jobs in 2010. This measure is part of a restructuring programme promoted by Ministry of Economy which involves 3,545 collective dismissals affecting various public companies (Compania Nationala a Huilei Petrosani, Termoelectrica Bucuresti, Electrocentrale Deva, Electrocentrale Bucuresti, Complexul Energetic Rovinari, Societatea Nationala a Lignitului Oltenia). The dismissals are attributed to a need to reduce energy prices.
