State-owned company Societatea Nationala a Lignitului Oltenia is to cut 300 jobs in 2010. This measure is part of a restructuring programme promoted by Ministry of Economy which involves 3,545 collective dismissals affecting various public companies (Compania Nationala a Huilei Petrosani, Termoelectrica Bucuresti, Electrocentrale Deva, Electrocentrale Bucuresti, Complexul Energetic Turceni, Complexul Energetic Rovinari). The dismissals are attributed to the need to reduce energy prices.
