Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Japanese car part manufacturer Jtekt has announced the closure of its site in Dijon dismissing around 86 out of 360 workers by the end of 2010. This is due to overcapacities, management said. 274 of the 360 employees will be offered a job at the company's site in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur. The site in Dijon is specialised on the production of hydraulic shafts.
