Description
Wokingham Borough Council, Berkshire, is to cut 150 jobs as part of a plan to save £9.5m over the next three years. Council leader David Lee expressed hope that the losses would occur through natural wastage, rather than being compulsory, as during the given time period they would expect a natural turnover of 300 staff and 75 retirements. Union Unison stated it was aiming to keep job losses to a minimum. No details were given on the number currently employed.
