Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A coal mining machinery manufacturer Zaklad Maszyn Gorniczych Glinik is to cut 390 jobs (30% of the staff). Employees will be given notice at the end of February 2010. The job losses are attributed to the difficult financial situation of the company and diminishing volume of orders.
