Description
The Student Loan Company has announced plans to cut 195 jobs from its premises in Glasgow and Hillington. According to the Public and Commercial Service union (PCS), the redundancies are blamed on cuts in UK government funding. The company said the job losses were needed to deliver a better quality of service in the future. Management are now entering a period of consultation with staff and the PCS, and they anticipate that the majority of the redundancies will be through voluntary means.
