The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Intesa San Paolo, one of the main Italian banking groups, is to create 400-600 new jobs by the end of 2010 due to the opening of new branches in the South of Italy, and especially in Lecce, Potenza and L'Aquila. The workers should be hired through apprenticeship contracts.
In the next months the banking group and the trade unions should discuss on the terms and conditions of employment for the new workers. Intesa San Paolo has around 73,000 employees in Italy.
