Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Agrikonn-kam, a manufacturer of agricultural machines, announced a new mass redundancy programme for 130 workers by the end of April 2009 in order to counterbalance falling demands from its major buyers. In February, the company had already dismissed 60 workers. Mr Hugyecz, the company CEO, also announced that another 100 people may be dismissed if the situation does not improve over the next months. The firm is based in Kiskunmajsa (Bács-Kiskun county) specialized in the production of driver's cabins.
