Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lakics Gépgyártó created 100 new jobs at its new production site in Kaposvár (Somogy county). The total investment of the project is HUF 1.5 billion (EUR 5.4 million), which was complemented by a HUF 600 million (EUR 2.1 million) EU grant. The company had also received subsidies from the local authority in the form of a 30% discount of the price of the building plot.
Although according to the original plans the new production facility should have only entered in operation in 2010 reaching full employment in 2011, the plant started production in December 2009 and will be fully operational by mid 2010.
Lakics Gépgyártó produces mainly engines and generators for wind plants. Previously the company operated in other three sites.
