Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Sundsvall-Härnösand Hospital in northern Sweden announced the reduction of 700 jobs by mid-2010. The reductions are part of a savings programme to cut costs by SEK 235 million (€23 million). All sections of the hospital except the psychiatric unit will be affected. In September 2009, management had announced the cut of 400-500 employees. In order to achieve the cost cuts, this has now been increased to 700 lay-offs.
