Description

In September 2009, GST Automotive Safety Czech, a passenger airbag producer, announced that it is to cut 350 jobs with the closure of the Jevíčko plant by the end of April 2010 due to the economic downturn. On 27 April 2010, the firm announced that the plant is still operating and employs about 140 people. The job losses were attributed to a gradual shifting of the production to Romania. It appears that a total of 460 workers were dismissed in the period April 2009-April 2010.
