Description
Birmingham City Council announced plans to cut 800 full-time jobs as a result of a £2.2bn deficit. Council leader Mike Whitby stated that the losses would be achieved by not refilling vacancies and through natural wastage. As of November 2009, the timeline for the implementation of the cuts is unknown.
