European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Water company United Utilities has announced that it is to cut up to 260 as part of a business restructure. Management plans to cut costs and is hoping to make the job cuts by offering staff voluntary redundancy. The company is negotiating with trade union Unite over the ways in which cuts can be made while maintaining business strength and customer service.
Unite has said that it is disappointed with the job cut announcement blaming inefficiencies on "management issues"
