Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Textile and clothing manufacturer Makyta Puchov announced the dismissal of 654 workers. The financial director of the company, Miroslav Macák, declared that 475 employees will be affected. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Michal Stuška, redundancies are mainly due to the delocalisation of the production of upholstery for Audi and Volkswagen to Serbia. Another reason for the company's difficulties is the low competitiveness of some production units.
