Description
On 4 Novenber 2009, the Norwegian Bring CityMail, announced that it is to close after a loss of more than 500 million euro since its inception in 2007. As a result 440 employees will lose their jobs.
The announcement comes a few weeks before negotiations for the total liberalisation of the Danish postal service market. The EU has ordered Denmark to implement the liberalisation of postal services by 2011. After the closure of Bring Citymail, Post Denmark will be the only postal services provider on the market.
