Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 18 September 2009, Honig announced that the plant in Nijmegen will be closed by 2012. The local government intends to use the location for housing. Honig announced that no new plant will be built; the production will be relocated to other plants. Only the Innovation Centre employing 50 employees will remain in Nijmegen. The other 241 employees will lose their jobs.
