Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Videocon, the Indian group which produces electronics, home appliances and colour picture tubes, is to close its plant located at Anagni (in province of Frosinone) with the loss of 1,350 jobs. The trade unions have involved the national and the local authorities in order to avoid the job cuts. On 30 October, the company has announced the decision to stop the collective dismissal procedures. In the next months, the company and the trade unions will meet in order to find solutions aimed to maintain the production's activity at the Anagni plant. Videocon and around 22,000 employees worldwide.
